Who can Join?
Boys and girls that are 13 and completed 8th grade, or are 14 years old. Youth can be members until they turn 21.
If you are already registered in the BSA (like in a Scouts BSA Troop), you only pay the ship dues.
What is the cost?
National membership in the BSA is $72/year. Insurance in the Simon Kenton Council is $60/year. Ship 280 dues are $100 (Payable $25 per quarter). Each event like a camp is priced based on the expenses. There are some other initial expenses for uniforms and insignia. You can find more uniform details here.
When and Where do you meet?
Between Memorial Day and Labor day we meet most Sundays from 2:00 pm to 5:30 at Alum Creek Sailing Association. Other times of the year we meet twice a month on Sundays.
Winter (Labor Day until April) meetings will be held at the Columbus Power Squadron, 8492 Cotter St., Lewis Center, OH 43035.
